Silent Sermon

SILENT SERMON

A member of a certain church, who previously had been attending services regularly, suddenly stopped coming to church. After a few weeks, the Pastor decided to visit.

The Pastor found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire. Guessing the reason for his Pastor’s visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited. The pastor made himself at home but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After some minutes, the Pastor took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone.

Then he sat back in his chair, still silent. The host watched all this in quiet contemplation. As the one lone ember’s flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more. Soon it was cold and lifeless. The Pastor glanced at his watch and realized it was time to leave. He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead ember and placed it back in the middle of the fire. Immediately it began to glow, once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.

As the Pastor reached the door to leave, his host said with a tear running down his cheek, "Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the fiery sermon. I shall be back in church next Sunday."

Clothed in the Spirit

As I read about being clothed with the Spirit Matt.22:12 came to mind could it be the church needs to be clothed in the Spirit  for the Rapture ....The coming of Christ...

I cannot forget Matt. 22:12 12And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

Luke 24:49 And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued (clothed upon) with power from on high.

God will clothe you with the Spirit of promise

Judges 6:34a But the Spirit of the Lord clothed Gideon ( amplified Bible)

Matthew 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothed the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith...

this  verse is so much greater to know that He  promises to clothe us Spiritually

Zech 3:3-4 Joshua's , High Priest, garments were filthy, so God said take away the filthy garments from him and I will clothe him with a change of raiment.

When we enter into His rest ........as we are clothed with the Spirit....... the change takes place.

2 Cor.3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

After the Spirit takes possession of us ..He will start to flow through us.

Acts 1:8a But ye shall receive power after the  Holy Ghost is come upon you

Let us all be clothed with the Spirit and walking in Power and ready for our King....
